Mechatronics vs. Robotics

Hi everyone!. I'm gonna share to you today my infographic about mechatronics and robotics. Most of the people mistaken robotics as same as mechatronics. Well, it is not. Robotics is literally a field of mechatronics. It will tell here in my infographic about the meaning of these two topics.

Growing NZ Innovation Challenge

INTRODUCTION
What's up everyone! For the past 5 weeks, we are working on our project in DTE which is related to our lives today. We are given a problem and there's a challenge for us to solve and make a solution. In our class, there are 6 groups with different topics. All of the topics have something to do with the problems that NZ is facing today. Mr. Carter let us chose our topic and the topic we resolved is the 'Careers and Capabilities'. The problem in this subject matter is that the primary sector is struggling to attract learners to study the field of agri-science and business industry despite the fact that these fields have too many opportunities to offer. The challenge for us was to create a solution on how should primary industries should do to persuade young learners to be interested in agri-science and business industries to make our industry have its sustainable, efficient, productive and high-yielding sectors.

DIGITAL LEARNING OBJECT (DLO)

This is our presentation regarding to what topic we've picked. Here you can see what is our problem and challenge(which I already mentioned above), our solution, the two enablers that we used, our research, prototype, and a video presenting the importance of agriculture in our generation.

REFLECTION
Last week on Friday, we exhibited our presentation to our class. Our topic is about agri0science and business industries.I'd say that I am proud of my group's work because I know that our struggles paid off and we reached our success in presenting what we wanted to show them. In this unit, I'm not the leader anymore. I passed it over to Ofa. I would like to be their leader again( which I really did) but Ofa did amazing in leading us. Her leadership was very different from mine. We have different styles in handling the group. I am more hands-on to every member and I could say that she's more on giving us the comfort and leisure time but it worked well. I am happy that we managed to overcome all the hardships throughout the project and I am really satisfied.

My groupmates are still my groupmates last time. Ofa, Devie and Wardah. Sadly, Wardah didn't attend almost 4 weeks in school. We lost a member which was really hard because her assistance is a big help to us. But I hoped she enjoyed her vacation there. Actually, to be honest, we really struggled in this one. At first, we can't really get the grasp of the topic. And I really thank Mr. Carter for giving us the knowledge to solve our problem and for giving patience to make us understand what we should we do and how we should do on our topic. Doing our prototype was totally the most stressing one and it is the part we used our full effort. I even came home at 5 pm for doing our prototype. In the end, it was all worth it.

Every group in our class did a great job. It is so heart-warming when you see your classmates trying their best (some of them) to solve a problem. Unfortunately, many still have their stage fright when presenting. Overall, it is great except for the way they presented. I want them to present confidently because their ideas are amazing and it is deserving to be shown and introduced.

Cultural, Economic, and Social Impacts in our Eating Pattern Today

Today in our Home Economics, we talked about the impacts of cultural, social and economic in terms of our foods today. There are too many ways NZ foods are changed time in time. One of the main reason is the adaptation and the influence of the other country who immigrated to our country, NZ. Below are the questions tackling the activity we did and the pics:

WHAT WAS SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE CHANGES IN NZ FOOD THAT YOU LEARNT FROM THE CARDS?
- I didn't know that the English settlers are the one who brought the cooking tools when they traveled and settled in NZ. They brought pots and pans with them.

WHAT COULD YOU SEE HAPPENING TO FOODS IN ANOTHER 50 YEARS TIME?
-I think there will be more processed foods since the technology will be more prominent at that time. Humans will discover more and more to how we can make cooking easier and convenient which is good and bad. It is good because we don't have to worry maybe cooking in hours but it is also bad because people might forget all the things that our ancestors have created especially food recipes and cooking methods. They will be new foods or dishes that will be discovered.

WHAT CHANGE COULD YOU INVENT THAT WOULD ALLOW FOOD TO BE PRODUCED AT A MUCH CHEAPER PRICE?
-The change I could invent is the campaign for promoting agriculture. I think of this because we also did this in DTE. Agriculture is the main resources of our food production. In our country today, they are begging for learners to be attracted in agriscience and business industry which has a big impact on food productivity and efficiency if not given the utmost attention. We couldn't always rely on farmers because they are already having a hard time feeding people. So what's the connection between advertising agriculture to make food to be produced at a cheaper price? If we can advertise and persuade people to pick agriscience as their choice of job, of course, there will be a high demand in this field. We will have the people that will take care of our farms, forestry, and nature. In that case, we won't need to worry about the production of foods. Then the next step is to give a voice to food's cost. If we don't have the problem with food production, it will be easy for us to propose the cheaper food price.

A LEVER!

Today in our Science period, we learned about what lever is. Lever has been a part of our life we just didn't know, have you? But the question is what is a lever?

A lever is a type of simple machine that is a tool used to make things easier. It is either a wood or metal or whatever that can move in a pivot.
Below is a photo representing the parts of a lever and how does it work:

There you can see the beam which is the lever, the load, fulcrum or pivot, and effort. The effort is the force you exerted into something and the fulcrum helps you to pivot the lever in the fulcrum then there's a work done which you can lift the load.

Migration

In this term 3, we are tackling about migration in our Social Studies.
Migration means the act of moving of the people from place to another.
There are types of factors that make people leave their place and transfer to another place and these are:
Push factors- these are the negative and bad list of reasons why people move to another location.
Pull factors- while push factors are the negatives, pull factors serve as the positive things that attract and captivates people to resettle place.

For the representation of my learning in this topic, I made this video for you discussing about migration.

I also learned an interesting information. FACT: Around 244 million of people in the whole world migrates globally. And if they are gathered around in one place they will create a country making the 5th's world's largest population.

Passion Project

There are so many things I am passionate about. I am passionate about reading, singing, drawing, learning, and many other things. For this project, I would like to feature He's Into Her book by Maxinejiji.

He's Into Her has 3 seasons. This story is in written with mixed Filipino, English and Korean language which are the language I use and am interested in. I picked this story because it is not a cliche like many stories out there. Not that I am belittling other stories but this story just has something in it that will live and have a special space in my heart.

I maybe read this book 3 or 4 times? and I am still planning to read it again. I want to recommend it to everybody but sadly this book is mostly written in Filipino. If that's the case, I'll just give you the summary of the book.

SUMMARY
Season 1

This is the start of the meeting of the two main characters. Deib Lohr Enrile is a famous, heart-throb, rich ( grandson of the Dean of the school Brint International School), but he's a bully. It was a start of the new school year and he promised that he will no longer bully others since he's a graduating student yet destiny's betraying him. Along the corridor., he saw a not sexy but also not a chubby girl which made an eye-contact with him. There was something mysterious in the girl that made him do what he mustn't do. He trips her. After that everything was a mess. He wouldn't believe that the girl he tripped will punch him in return. Then, their journey begins.
Deib didn't know that the girl named, Max, will be his match. What I mean in 'match' is that he found someone that will fight back in his silly actions. From all the people he bullied, there's no any moment that someone fought back to him and even though they want to fight back,it will be just a waste of time because people will stand onto Deib's side. Maxpein Zin Del Valle, a girl that has a cold personality. She's not the typical girl you will know. She's unique. She's strong, dignified, intelligent but she's kind of fat, disrespectful, and always unresponsive. Because of what she did, she became the school's target to bully at. She's taking her step in that school to experience hell.

Deib's popularity really has his name in the school. What he did was seen by most of the students and unhappily, his schoolmates reflected on what he did. Deib was a heartthrob so many women are going crazy over him, no wonder they victimized Max by their foolish and trash acts.
In this season, it is all about the bullying stuff and kind of presenting the characters.
