Growing NZ Innovation Challenge

INTRODUCTION
What's up everyone! For the past 5 weeks, we are working on our project in DTE which is related to our lives today. We are given a problem and there's a challenge for us to solve and make a solution. In our class, there are 6 groups with different topics. All of the topics have something to do with the problems that NZ is facing today. Mr. Carter let us chose our topic and the topic we resolved is the 'Careers and Capabilities'. The problem in this subject matter is that the primary sector is struggling to attract learners to study the field of agri-science and business industry despite the fact that these fields have too many opportunities to offer. The challenge for us was to create a solution on how should primary industries should do to persuade young learners to be interested in agri-science and business industries to make our industry have its sustainable, efficient, productive and high-yielding sectors.

DIGITAL LEARNING OBJECT (DLO)

This is our presentation regarding to what topic we've picked. Here you can see what is our problem and challenge(which I already mentioned above), our solution, the two enablers that we used, our research, prototype, and a video presenting the importance of agriculture in our generation.

REFLECTION
Last week on Friday, we exhibited our presentation to our class. Our topic is about agri0science and business industries.I'd say that I am proud of my group's work because I know that our struggles paid off and we reached our success in presenting what we wanted to show them. In this unit, I'm not the leader anymore. I passed it over to Ofa. I would like to be their leader again( which I really did) but Ofa did amazing in leading us. Her leadership was very different from mine. We have different styles in handling the group. I am more hands-on to every member and I could say that she's more on giving us the comfort and leisure time but it worked well. I am happy that we managed to overcome all the hardships throughout the project and I am really satisfied.

My groupmates are still my groupmates last time. Ofa, Devie and Wardah. Sadly, Wardah didn't attend almost 4 weeks in school. We lost a member which was really hard because her assistance is a big help to us. But I hoped she enjoyed her vacation there. Actually, to be honest, we really struggled in this one. At first, we can't really get the grasp of the topic. And I really thank Mr. Carter for giving us the knowledge to solve our problem and for giving patience to make us understand what we should we do and how we should do on our topic. Doing our prototype was totally the most stressing one and it is the part we used our full effort. I even came home at 5 pm for doing our prototype. In the end, it was all worth it.

Every group in our class did a great job. It is so heart-warming when you see your classmates trying their best (some of them) to solve a problem. Unfortunately, many still have their stage fright when presenting. Overall, it is great except for the way they presented. I want them to present confidently because their ideas are amazing and it is deserving to be shown and introduced.

Have you looked into my slides? Go check it!
Do you know what's agri-science? If you had the chance to be educated about this field, would you be interested?
