The first movie trailer we are going to look is Mrs. Doubtfire. Here is the Real trailer and the Edited trailer. You can check it out!
Which trailer do I like and why?
I like the edited trailer for the movie. The reasons are:
- The quality of the trailer is clearer and catchy than the original one.
- It is not because it's the horror trailer but because I think it will persuade more audience to watch the movie.
- The camera angles of the original trailer were not being shot properly. Some of the frames of the subject are being cut.
- The voiceover doesn't match with the first trailer.
- The clips are shown properly.
- It justified the movie than the original.
Next trailers are from the movie The Silence of the Lambs. You can watch the first here (original trailer) and the second here (revised trailer)
Out of the 2 trailers, which one do you think is the original?
First of all, the two trailers are amazing and well-edited but I think the original trailer is the first one. Because:
- The title suits with the first trailer.
- The clips here are more persuaded to believe that the genre is a horror movie.
- I think the last part really captured and made me choose this one which will really show you why it's a horror movie and it is the woman is holding the gun (well a romantic movie can also have guns but I think it's more suitable in a horror or action genre)
- The criminal was portrayed well.
- The costume and props of the characters and the movie appear to be a horror movie.
What are the 3 main film aspect (conventions and techniques) used in the trailer 1?
The 3 main film aspect of the trailer is medium shot, establishing shot and close up shot.
I am learning about the contrast between the two different kinds of trailers and distinguish why is it better than the other one. This blog represents my learning on the topic cause I present here what did I do, I explained my points and opinions in the idea and I shared my learning as it is my purpose in this blog. I am wondering how could I expand my knowledge on this topic and how well I am going to cope up with the works and activities I'm going to assign.
